While Scott is a recent addition to the J M Smith Family, he has 30 years of experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare and consumer products wholesale and distribution. An alumnus of East Tennessee State University, Scott is known for finding solutions and innovating processes. Scott is a believer in independent pharmacies and the vital role they play in our communities. He is proud to be part of J M Smith and Smith Drug Company.


Wade Lewis

Wade Lewis

President and COO

Wade is a proud long-term employee of Smith Drug Company. He has served many roles with us, the most recent being Vice President, Operations and Customer Service. He believes in our customers and employees and is committed to doing all he can to help them both excel.

A native of Arkansas, Wade served our country as a U.S. Military Officer prior to his career in distribution management. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Arkansas State University and enjoys working with a variety of charitable organizations focused on children and animals.


Larry Cote

Chief Compliance Officer

Larry is one of the nation’s foremost Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) litigation & compliance attorneys. Before joining Smith Drug Company, Larry maintained a law practice representing clients across the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries, from manufacturers and wholesale distributors to pharmacies, hospitals, research institutions, and individual practitioners. He also previously served as associate chief counsel for the Diversion and Regulatory Litigation Section at DEA.

Larry was a major in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps, United States Army Reserve, and is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He is a graduate of Union College (Schenectady, NY) and Albany Law School.


DeWayne Benson

DeWayne Benson has been working in the pharmaceutical industry for over 35 years, with most of those years in the pharmaceutical wholesaling industry. DeWayne understands both the pharmacy's and the wholesaler's perspectives as he has worked in a pharmacy as well as in numerous roles with pharmaceutical wholesalers. His professional pharmacy wholesaling experience includes warehousing, purchasing, marketing, sales, and regional sales management. DeWayne brings this experience to his role as Vice President Sales, leading our team of Pharmacy Business Consultants and providing unmatched expertise to our loyal customers.

DeWayne is active in leadership roles within his church and loves to play basketball, softball and tennis whenever he can make the time.


Jeff Schneider, R.Ph., FASCP

Jeff Schneider, R.Ph., FASCP

VP, LTC/Pharmacy Business Solutions

Jeff Schneider, RPh, has been involved in Long Term Care (LTC) pharmacy for over 30 years. He has held executive roles with industry leaders, including NeighborCare and Omnicare. His professional experience includes start-up, turnaround, multi-site and multi-state operations in LTC pharmacy. Jeff has managed all aspects of LTC pharmacy, from clinical services and financial management to HR and regulatory compliance. Jeff provides expertise to pharmacy customers to help grow their businesses and improve their bottom lines.

Jeff is a graduate in pharmacy from Virginia Commonwealth University, Medical College of Virginia and a licensed pharmacist in several states. He is a member of the Board of Directors for the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP), member of the LTC Advisory Board for the Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA).


Marty Harris

VP, Operations

Marty has been in pharmaceutical wholesale distribution for more than 20 years, and was one of the first employees at our Paragould distribution center when he became Operations Manager there in 2004. In August of 2020, Marty was named VP of Operations for all of Smith Drug Company. Marty's belief in Customer Service has been in evidence many times throughout his career with us. Many of our customers recount seeing Marty and his team when hurricanes, ice storms or other natural disasters hit their communities, bringing their orders and other much needed supplies to help them care for their patients.

In addition to being active in his church, Marty is a retired Volunteer Fire Fighter, having served Western Greene County for 27 years.

For more than 15 years, Kim has loved being part of the Smith Drug Company team. Her favorite part of the job? Working with the best people you’ll find anywhere. Kim demonstrates our core values every day, making caring for our employees and our customers the foundation of everything she does.

When not planning employee appreciation events here at Smith Drug, Kim can be found working with several community outreach programs.

VP, Product Services

Jim has more than 30 years of expertise in our industry, including sales, management, distribution and purchasing. Jim joined Smith Drug in 2008 as the Director of Purchasing and is committed to making sure our customers have access to the inventory they need to care for their patients. An avid Gamecock, he is an alumnus of the University of South Carolina who enjoys spending time with his family, reading and fishing.


Charles Bennett

For more than a decade, Charles has been at the helm of our IT department. Whether he’s monitoring customer ordering portal or ensuring the systems responsible for helping our staff get orders picked packed and shipped accurately, Charles is determined to keep everything running smoothly and making sure our customers are taken care of.

An avid golfer, Charles is also a history buff and enjoys reading.
