This is a difficult time for everyone as we navigate circumstances brought on with COVID-19. We want to continue to provide the outstanding service you deserve, while recognizing our critical role in the pharmacy supply chain.
In order to ensure that our customers receive products needed to care for their patients, we are implementing measures to review orders that are outside the range of normal historic quantities.
We recognize that patients may be purchasing increased quantities of prescription medications, per CDC guidelines and CMS policy changes (see the announcement on the Smith Drug Company portal) and want to ensure that our customers are able to obtain the medications they need to care for their patients.
While some manufacturers are starting to allocate product to their wholesalers, we are neither experiencing nor expecting any significant shortages. Our process is being implemented to ensure product availability moving forward.
We are experiencing increased ordering of paper products, which by nature are bulky and may create challenges for our delivery drivers. Please order what you need, but not in excess. We will always prioritize pharmaceutical products over paper products should we need to in order to get deliveries to our customers.
